My involvement with GVI, CAC, NAACP, and LINKS reflects my belief that real change starts with deep engagement. When we show up together, we build trust and we build safety.
Building Partnerships
The Prosecutor's Office cannot solve the issue of crime alone.
That is why I am committed to building partnerships with police, drug & mental
health centers, schools, social services, community organizations, city and government agencies, businesses, etc. to assist with crime reduction and prevention strategies and programs.
Problem Solving
The community and the justice system must work as a team to identify and prioritize community issues and then problem solve with creative and new approaches to find solutions to bring about change.

I AM READY TO SERVE
Experience that delivers results is what I bring to the people of Jefferson and Lincoln Counties. Over the past 25 years, I have climbed the ranks in the Prosecutor’s Office to hold leadership positions of Senior Deputy Prosecutor and now as Chief Deputy Prosecutor, next in line to the elected prosecutor.
I have a proven track record in the courtroom and in the community. I have tried over 150 criminal jury trial including the high profile case involving Officer Kevin Collin’s murder. I was able to improve the conviction rate of child abuse cases by collaborating effectively with law enforcement and community professionals. I possess the work ethic, knowledge, experience, leadership, and passion to be fully prepared to serve as your next elected Prosecuting Attorney on day one.

Meet Karres
I grew up in a small town called Stephens, Arkansas about 90 miles south of Pine Bluff. In my small community everyone knew each other and helped each other in times of need. Growing up in a small town has shown me the importance of community and support of each other.
I believe in the Jefferson and Lincoln Counties and I believe that together we can make a difference. It is about service and community.
